Snow Day – January 2017

Each year, the Bethany Christian School PTF works hard to put on a special Snow Day for the students. The younger children start learning about the seasons and start the countdown to this important occasion while the older kids just look forward to breaking away from their studies for a moment to play in the snow.

First thing in the morning, a truck brings in the snow and parents volunteer to make sledding hills. Frosty even shows up for a few runs on his sled and to take photos with the kids. The PTF and parents also provide the best of winter goodies for the kids to indulge on this very special day. There’s nothing like hot chocolate, ice cream, snowflake and mitten cookies, and smores to make it really feel like winter. For more information contact Sarah Sherman at ssherman@bcsftl.org.

This free event has quickly grown into one of Fort Lauderdale’s largest and most anticipated festivals, attracting thousands of spectators for a one-of-a-kind celebration of all things Irish. In addition to the parade, there will be plenty of additional festivities to enjoy including the St. Patrick’s Festival, from 10 a.m. until 7:00 pm at Huizenga Plaza and along the Riverwalk. Highlights include bounce houses, pony rides, face painting, food, live bands, Irish dancers, interactive entertainment, and cultural attractions.
